Advantages of ZORA Cat.6A Shielded Patch Cord

Revolutionary upgrade of bandwidth and rate

Cat 6A shielded patch cord supports 500MHz bandwidth (twice the 250MHz of ordinary Category 6), which can easily achieve 10Gbps 10G transmission and reserve space for future 40Gbps network upgrade. In contrast, ordinary Category 6 unshielded cables are limited to 250MHz bandwidth and can only barely support short-distance 10G transmission. Long-distance scenarios are prone to rate attenuation.

Double-layer shielding anti-interference system

The double shielding structure of full coverage of aluminum foil layer + high-density metal braided mesh, combined with an independent grounding bar design, increases the attenuation value of external electromagnetic interference (such as equipment in the computer room, industrial motors) by more than 20dB. Ordinary unshielded cables (UTP) are susceptible to interference in complex electromagnetic environments, resulting in video freezes, data packet loss, and even transmission interruptions.

When workshops don't stop and cabinets have zero delay: How does ZORA reconstruct network standards for key scenarios?

Whether it is strong electromagnetic interference in factories, high-density wiring in computer rooms, or multi-network integration in smart buildings, ZORA Category 6a shielded jumpers redefine the bottom line of stable transmission with actual measured performance

Industrial high-interference scenarios

Pain point: Inverters and high-power motors in workshops generate strong electromagnetic interference, and ordinary unshielded video surveillance frequently interrupts the flow.

ZORA Solution: The double-layer shielding structure increases the signal-to-noise ratio to more than 90dB, ensuring the synchronous and stable transmission of 4K video streams and PLC control signals.

Competitive product defects: Unshielded cables require additional magnetic rings, which increases wiring costs and failure rates.

High-density wiring in data centers

Pain point: When the density of jumpers in the cabinet exceeds 300/cabinet, crosstalk between wires causes network delays to soar.

ZORA Solution: 4 pairs of twisted pair cables use a differentiated lay length design (difference in lay length ≥5mm) to suppress near-end crosstalk (NEXT); the plug-in life of the gold-plated crystal head exceeds 1,000 times to avoid poor contact due to oxidation.

Competitive product defects: The plating layer of the inferior crystal head is less than 15μm, which is easy to cause link CRC errors after 300 plug-ins.

Future-oriented compatibility

Pain point: Traditional Cat6 cables cannot support high-power protocols such as HDMI over IP and 90W PoE++.

ZORA Solution: Through external crosstalk (AXT) testing, it can carry 4K@60Hz video (18Gbps) + 90W power supply synchronous transmission, and the wiring cost is 40% lower than the traditional "video cable + power cable" separation solution.

Competitive product defects: The cable temperature rise of unshielded cables exceeds 15°C when powered by PoE above 30W, which poses a safety hazard.

ZORA Category 6A shielded patch cord directly addresses the industry pain points with its core value of "three highs and two hards" (high bandwidth, high anti-interference, high compatibility, hard wire diameter, and hard process). In scenarios such as industrial Internet of Things, smart buildings, and cloud data centers, it can reduce the network failure rate by more than 30%. At the same time, it reserves technical redundancy for network upgrades in the next ten years, achieving the ultimate goal of "wiring once, worry-free for ten years."

ZORA Cat. 6A Shielded Patch Cord FAQs

FAQs
  • FAQ 1: What is the difference between Category 6A shielded patch cord and unshielded cable? Do you have to use shielded cable?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
A: Shielded cable has double shielding of aluminum foil layer + metal braided mesh outside the conductor, which is designed for high-interference environments (such as computer rooms, factories, and around medical equipment). If your wiring environment has motors, strong electric equipment or high-density cables, shielded cables can reduce signal interference by more than 90%; unshielded cables can be used in low-interference scenarios such as ordinary offices.
  • FAQ 2: What is the performance difference between Category 6A and Category 6 (Cat6) patch cords?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
A: Category 6A has a bandwidth of 500MHz (twice as much as Category 6) and supports 10Gbps 10G transmission up to 100 meters, while Category 6 can only run at full 10G within 55 meters. In addition, Category 6A passes the more stringent alien crosstalk (AXT) test and is suitable for high-density cabinet wiring.
  • FAQ 3: Do shielded jumpers need to be grounded? What happens if they are not grounded?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
A : They must be grounded! If the shielding layer is not connected to the device case through a metal crystal plug or grounding bar, it will absorb interference like an "antenna", and the effect is worse than that of an unshielded cable. ZORA jumpers use a gold-plated metal shell + grounding shrapnel to ensure that the shielding layer is connected to the device ground.
  • FAQ 4: Is it compatible with existing Cat5e/Cat6 devices?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
A : Fully compatible! Category 6a is backward compatible with all Cat6/Cat5e switches and routers, and has better performance. For example: connecting Gigabit devices with Category 6a patch cords can reduce network latency (<0.2ms) and reduce the probability of data retransmission.
  • FAQ 5: How far can the Category 6a patch cord be transmitted? Is it necessary for home use?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
A : The maximum transmission distance of Category 6a 10GbE is 100 meters (POE++ power supply is recommended to be ≤80 meters). If an ordinary family does not need 10G NAS/8K video, Category 6 cable is sufficient; but if you plan to deploy smart home central control (such as HDMI over IP) or do not change the cable in the next ten years, Category 6a is more valuable.
  • FAQ 6: Why are some Category 6a cables so hard? Can ZORA cables be bent?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
A: Cable hardness depends on the shielding structure and wire diameter. ZORA uses a spiral braided shield (not an integral aluminum foil wrap) with an anti-bending PVC outer sheath. The minimum bending radius is ≥ 4 times the wire diameter (about 8mm), which can meet the bending requirements of the cabinet cable organizer.
  • FAQ 7: Shielded patch cords are more expensive than unshielded ones. Is it worth spending more?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
Answer: Shielded cables are required for three scenarios:
    Industrial environment: save the cost of later anti-interference transformation;
    Data center: reduce crosstalk and packet loss between high-density cables;
Converged transmission: single-line transmission of 4K video + Gigabit data + 90W power supply (PoE++) at the same time.
ZORA patch cord has passed 200,000 plug-in and pull-out tests and has a double-shielded structure. The failure rate is 67% lower than the industry standard, and long-term use saves more operation and maintenance costs.
