ZORA Indoor OS2 Fiber Optic Cable FAQ
Indoor OS2 Fiber Optic Cable is a single mode fiber optic cable designed for use in indoor environments. It uses a 9/125-micron core/cladding structure, which is suitable for long-distance, high-bandwidth data transmission, typically supporting 1G/10G/40G or even 100G network speeds.
Indoor OS2 cables are usually of tight-buffered construction, suitable for indoor use, soft and easy to install. Outdoor OS2 cables are mostly loose-tube designs, which are resistant to moisture and ultraviolet light and 5.suitable for outdoor environments.
At 1310 nm wavelength, the maximum transmission distance of Indoor OS2 cable can usually reach 10 km; At a wavelength of 1550 nanometers, it can reach 40 kilometers. The exact distance depends on the device and network configuration.
It is suitable for data centers, enterprise campus networks, telecommunication switching rooms and other indoor scenarios that require high-speed and long-distance transmission.
Indoor OS2 cables have a typical attenuation value of 0.4 dB/km (1310 nm and 1550 nm), which is lower than OS1 (1.0 dB/km) and less signal loss.
Common connectors include LC, SC, ST, etc. The choice depends on your device interface. LC is often used in high-density environments due to its small size, while SC and ST are more common in traditional devices. Confirm based on actual requirements.
