ZORA Cat5e FTP 4P Cable FAQ
Cat5e FTP 4P cable is an Ethernet cable compliant with TIA/EIA-568-B standards. It consists of four copper pairs with individual or overall metallic shielding (foil/braid) to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI), supporting Gigabit Ethernet (1Gbps) in high-noise industrial or medical environments.
Industrial Automation: Wiring near motors and inverters.
Medical Systems: MRI rooms and operating theaters.
High-Density Data Centers: Reducing cross-talk between cabinets.
Transportation Control: Subway signal systems and airport networks.
Speed: 1Gbps (up to 100 meters).
Bandwidth: 100MHz.
Shielding Types: F/UTP (overall foil).
Noise Resistance: 20-30dB lower crosstalk (NEXT) than UTP.
Parameter | Cat5e FTP | Cat5e UTP |
Shielding | Foil | None |
EMI Resistance | High (factories/hospitals) | Moderate (offices) |
Installation | Complex (requires grounding) | Simple |
Cost | 30-50% higher | Low |
Grounding: Shield layers must be grounded at both ends.
Connectors: Use shielded RJ45 plugs with metal shells.
Bend Radius: ≥8x cable diameter (e.g., 48mm for 6mm cable).
Avoid Mixing: Maintain ≥30cm distance from UTP cables.
Yes! Supports 802.3af (15W) and 802.3at (30W), provided shields are properly grounded.
