Product Description

ZORA Cat 5e UTP 4P PVC Cable Description

ZORA Cat 5e UTP 4P PVC Cable is an enhanced version of Cat5, designed for Ethernet networks with improved crosstalk reduction and signal stability. It consists of 4 twisted pairs (8 wires) without shielding, relying on twisting to minimize interference. Supporting 100MHz bandwidth and up to 1Gbps transmission over 100 meters, ZORA Cat 5e UTP 4P PVC Cable is ideal for home, office, and data center LAN wiring, connecting computers, routers, and switches. The flexible, cost-effective design of ZORA Cat 5e UTP 4P PVC Cable simplifies installation but is less resistant to external interference compared to shielded cables. Standards-compliant (TIA/EIA-568), it supports PoE, making it a versatile choice for modern networks.

FAQs
  • Q1: Can ZORA Category 5e unshielded twisted pair cables run Gigabit networks? What is the actual rate?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
✅ Support Gigabit transmission: ZORA Category 5e cables (Cat5e) that comply with TIA/EIA-568 standards support 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet), with a theoretical bandwidth of 100MHz. The actual short distance (<50 meters) can carry 2.5Gbps (device support required).
⚠️ Rate loss factor: When the distance exceeds 80 meters, the rate may drop to below 500Mbps due to impedance mismatch. It is recommended to use a low-attenuation crystal head (such as gold-plated 50µinch or more) to reduce loss.
  • Q2: What is the difference between ZORA Category 5e and ZORA Category 6 cables? Is it necessary for families to upgrade to ZORA Category 6?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
    A2:
The main difference between Category 5e (Cat5e) and Category 6 (Cat6) is reflected in the performance parameters:

Bandwidth: Cat5e supports 100MHz bandwidth, while Cat6 is increased to 250MHz, which can better cope with high-frequency signal transmission.
Transmission capacity: Both support a maximum transmission of 100 meters in a Gigabit network (1000BASE-T), but Cat6 can support 55 meters in a 10G network (10GBASE-T) environment, far exceeding the limit of Cat5e.
Wire diameter specification: Cat5e usually uses a 24AWG (diameter of about 0.50mm) wire core, while Cat6 uses a thicker 23AWG (diameter of about 0.58mm), which reduces signal attenuation.
    Home network recommendations:
If the current device only requires a gigabit rate and the wiring distance is short (such as within 50 meters), ZORA Cat5e is fully sufficient and more cost-effective; if you plan to pre-bury cables or upgrade to 2.5G/5G or even 10G networks in the future, it is recommended to directly deploy ZORA Category 6A to ensure long-term compatibility.
  • Q3: Can ZORA unshielded cable (UTP) be used in a strong electrical interference environment?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
⚠️ Anti-interference capability: UTP relies on twisted pair cables to physically offset interference, so be cautious in the following scenarios:
Parallel distance to strong power lines <15cm and length >10m
    Around elevators/substations/large motors
    ✅ Solution:
    Use Category 5e shielded cable (Cat5e FTP/STP)
Or use metal bridges and keep the distance between strong and weak power lines ≥30cm
  • Q4: What do the CM, CMR, and CMX grades printed on the cables mean? How to choose?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
    A4:
These logos represent the fire safety level of the cables, and the specific differences are as follows:
CM (common grade): suitable for low-risk environments, such as home pipe wiring or hidden wiring in ceilings, but prohibited for centralized wiring scenarios such as vertical shafts.
CMR (flame retardant grade): has flame retardant properties that can prevent fire from spreading in the vertical direction. It is often used in vertical trunk channels of buildings such as office buildings and shopping malls.
CMX (outdoor grade): designed for outdoor environments, UV-resistant and moisture-proof, suitable for deployment under eaves, underground pipelines, or direct burial.
    Purchase Guide:
    CM grade is preferred for home or short-distance wiring;
    CMR grade is required for commercial building trunk lines;
CMX grade is mandatory for outdoor exposure scenarios, and the waterproof casing is used for enhanced protection.
  • Q5: Why does excessive bending of cables lead to network instability?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
    ❌ Damage mechanism:
When the bending radius is <4 times the wire diameter (category 5e requires about >25mm):
The twisted pair twist pitch is deformed, aggravating near-end crosstalk (NEXT)
Micro cracks in the insulation layer lead to impedance mutation
    ✅ Construction specifications:
Use a pipe bender to control the curvature when threading
Reserve a 15cm buffer bend in the cabinet, and prohibit right-angle bends
  • Q6: How to identify high-quality Category 5e cables? Can copper-clad aluminum (CCA) cables be used?
    Created with Sketch.
    形状 Created with Sketch.
    ✅ Authenticity identification:
Conductor material: Oxygen-free copper (OFC, resistance ≤9.5Ω/100m is preferred, copper-clad aluminum (CCA resistance ≥14Ω/100m) is rejected
Logo verification: The cable body should be continuously printed with "CAT5e 24AWG 4PR UTP" and UL/ETL certification code
    ⚠️ CCA cable risks:
High resistance causes heating of PoE power supply (may trigger power outage over 30 meters)
Signal attenuation increases after oxidation of aluminum core, life span is less than 3 years
