ZORA 100 Pair 110 Patch Panel FAQ

1: What are the primary applications of this patch panel?

Core Use: Centralized management and cross-connection for 100-pair voice cables in telecom rooms, PBX systems, or data center voice networks.

Extended Use: Security intercom cabling, hotel telephony expansion, structured cabling for legacy analog systems.

2: What tools and steps are required for installation?

Tools:

  • 110-type punch-down tool (compatible with IDC terminals).

  • Cable stripper, label printer, grounding pliers.

Steps:

  • Secure the wiring rack to the rack (19-inch standard).

  • Group lines by color scale (25 to one group) to ensure the consistent line sequence (T568A/B).

  • Shielded cables need to be connected to the distribution frame ground terminal.

3:How to manage high-density cables to prevent clutter?

Cable Grouping: Use 25-pair color groups (blue/orange/green/brown/slate) with 10cm slack.

Cable Management: Install horizontal/vertical managers to route cables.

Labeling: Tag each pair with source/destination (e.g., "PBX-01→RoomA-12").

4:Does it support mixed Cat5/Cat3 cabling?

Compatibility: Accepts Cat3 (voice) and Cat5 (low-speed data) cables (24AWG recommended).

Precautions:

  • Avoid mixing cable types within the same group.

  • Isolate data pairs from power cables.

5: How to troubleshoot poor contact or signal loss?

Steps:

  • Test continuity/wiring with a cable tester.

  • Re-punch loose IDC terminals.

  • Verify grounding (≤5Ω resistance for shielded systems).

6: What environmental conditions does it support?

  • Temperature/Humidity: Operates at -20°C~70°C, 5%~95% non-condensing.

  • Protection: Indoor use only (IP20); avoid dust/liquid exposure.
